'Lia' by Toby Whithouse |
Following the terrible events in London, George, Nina and Mitchell decide to move to Barry Island to make a fresh start, soon finding a new home in an ex-pub. Meanwhile, Annie is trapped in purgatory, trying desperately to make contact with Mitchell via television signals. Mitchell becomes obsessed with rescuing his friend, and uses George and Nina’s new hospital jobs to gain access to a morgue, where he follows the spirit of a recently-deceased shooting victim through a door leading to the afterlife. Here Mitchell meets a young woman named Lia – one of his former victims – who is his guide on the path to reaching Annie; Lia takes Mitchell on a journey through his past, forcing him to relive the horrors and shame of his bloodthirsty actions as a vampire. Back in the real world, George goes into the woods and meets a group of people that he takes for fellow werewolves – an encounter that promptly gets him arrested by the police for dogging! Elsewhere, a gang of vampires is kidnapping people and forcing them to compete in a bizarre fight club against werewolves…
